I started biking to lose weight and get in shape. I eventually started to commute to work (11 miles each way) and for about six months I biked on a cheap bike from a Walmart-type store. It wore out to the point I wasn't enjoying it anymore. I did a lot of research into a lot of different hybrids that were both affordable and great quality. I kept getting pointed back to the 7.2 FX. I finally bought it and I'm glad I did. It's roughly half the weight of the other bike I'd been training with and soooo much smoother. It makes sharp turns and feels fast. The tires are smooth and solid and even the seat is super comfortable (I've seen some reviews complain about the stock seat, but I love it). To me the bike is doing it's best when you don't notice it at all. You just glide along. I won't be getting rid of this bike, and it's only awakened what may be a new addiction: cycling.

I was a total newb back in May. Went in to the Trek store and told them what I wanted a bike for... riding around town, exercise and eventually longer rides and commuting. A few months later I have done all of these things and it's because they matched me up with my Trek 7.2 FX! For the price it's perfect!

After doing tons of research to find the right bike for my wife and I, we ended up with the TREK 7.2 and TREK 72. WSD. Glad we did it. We're riding more than we've ever did before. Way more comfortable, faster, and lighter than our other bikes. And easy to work on myself. I can't say enough good things are these bikes.

My first commuter/hybrid purchase a couple of years now. Mailed this bike ahead of me on a military deployment and it performed without a hitch during daily commute and even for a 26 mile marathon which was partially off road. Had to replace the brake pads but that was to be expected. Execellent Bike!

This is my first real bike, having ridden cheap ones off and on in the past. It was well worth the investment of a few more dollars! The seat is a little hard at first, but I've gotten used to it. It really moves on the paved trails around Northern Virginia, much more efficient than my wife's hybrid-comfort bike. I've taken it numerous times through DC and have had a blast riding! It's a little rough on gravel roads, though. I wouldn't spend too much time off the pavement with this one.

I am 53 years old and I use this great bike every day. I bought it and a Verve2 for my wife. She likes the front shocks. I love the smoothness and handling of the 7.2 and it really does have the power to flatten out the hills and makes it a joy to ride. It shifts gears so easily and the brakes are great also. I really can't say anything bad about this wonderful work of art. Our bikes are 2013 models and we have over 2000 miles on them in a year!! We both have lost over 40 lbs. each and aren't stopping. We love our TREKS and I've even gotten into watching the Trek Factory Racing teams at races around the world. Long live TREK and Bontrager!!

I bike around 22 miles a day for my commute to work and ever since I got Trek 7.2 there was no looking back . I was kinda worried initially whether it would carry me well as I'm on the heavier side. But the bike is absolutely fine with all those Seat might be a little bit uncomfortable in the beginning but will blend in after a while Loved the light weight of the bike. This is my first after very long time This is the best bike I have rode in my entire life Even though i got a non disc version the brake is absolutely a life saver as it did save my thrice already (which made me write this review) I can't think of anything that is not good about it absolutely loving it and this just made me love the whole idea of biking around
